Biography

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd (MLSE) is Canada’s preeminent leader in delivering top quality sport and entertainment experiences to national and global fans. MLSE is one of North America’s leading providers of exceptional experiences and is the parent company of the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies, the National Hockey League’s Toronto Maple Leafs, the National Basketball Association’s Toronto Raptors and Major League Soccer’s Toronto FC.

Jonathan Carrigan established and lead MLSE’s Business Intelligence Centre of Excellence, which includes analytics, database marketing, and digital. He worked with senior leadership to apply data analytics across the business; and develop omni-channel strategies for data acquisition, fan engagement, and monetization. Most recently, Jonathan was selected to be part of a new corporate transformation office to oversee and guide MLSE’s Vision 2020 digital transformation initiative. Prior to joining MLSE Jonathan lead Digital Product Development and Design at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), where he operated at a national level in support of strategic planning across business lines, including News, Sports, TV, and Radio. Jonathan is also active in academia developing curriculum, lecturing, and online tutoring. He currently teaches Digital Leadership & Performance at the University of British Columbia (UBC), as part of UBC’s Digital Strategy certificate program. Jonathan has an MBA specializing in technology management, and he speaks regularly at industry events and conferences in Canada and abroad.
